(i really don’t know how to start with the first paragraph)
During the four years of my undergraduate study, I have taken numerous courses in Accounting, Finance, and Business Management. This has exposed me to the various aspects of the accounting field and prepared me to learn more for the future career objectives.
In July 2007, I started my first job as a Financial Clerk in ABC company. My activities within this position included accounts receivable, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and office’s budget. Through this job, I applied my accounting theory in a real-world environment, …(can someone make it complete?)
After one year experience in ABC company, I was employed by DEF Bank as a Marketing Officer. This job not only had extremely demanding requirement on marketing skills but also made highly demands in the analytic capability. As a marketing officer who served most of the local companies, I must know my customers well by means of examining companies’ financial reports, checking their business documents, etc., to ensure that they had normal background and business relationship so as to protect our bank against fraud and money laudering. Furthermore, I must ensure that all my performances were compliant with bank policies and procedures. In addition to this position, I have been responsible for the branch’s IT maintainance because of my proficient computer skills. In this capacity, I got the chance to be familiar with a number of softwares used to facilitate accounting procedures. The two years banking experience provides me a lot in my early career: the communication and negotiation skills, the knowledge of gerneral accounting procedures, the hands-on experience in risk analysis, especially, the real interest in the internal auditing field.
In August 2007, I resigned from DEF Bank and then participated in a cultural exchange program in U.S. The true personal reason is capitalizing this change to improve my English and pursue my master’s degree in U.S. Since arriving alone in U.S. in September 2007, I have enjoying the satisfaction of knowing that I can accept challenges, remain focused and achieve what I set out to accomplish. While keeping my aims constantly in view, I took some courses at Anne Arundel Community College and USDA Graduate School to enhance my English and maths skills for the future education. Through my effort, I have developed excellent communication skills with people of different cultural backgrounds. I also got “A” grades in all my registered courses.
My long-term goal is to pursue a career as a CPA with a public accounting firm. For this reason, I am seeking a professional accounting program that will further my professional objectives and fulfill my educational requirements. I sincerely believe that, the three years working experience in financial department, coupled with my education in finance and my strong desire for professional growth in my interested area, will enable me to successfully fulfil the Master of Science in Business Accounting program.
I thought it SOunded good except for the part when you say ect. I would recommend not saying that in a professional letter. Because people look at that as a shortcut in writing so you do not have to write as much. Other than that I thought it was really good.By the way nice accomplishments.
For the part that needs a finished statement I would finish it by saying-Through this job, I applied my accounting theory in a real-world environment… which has helped me open my mind to future possibility for the furthering of education in this field.

Thanks so much in advance to all who answered!
B) The Aborigines believed that the earth was sacred.
(They still believe the earth is sacred, and so should all of us.)
SAN FRANCISCO — (May 14, 2007) California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. today criticized the Bush administration for illegally adopting “dangerously misguided” gas mileage rules.
Brown, in a lawsuit backed by 11 states and several environmental organizations, said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s new mileage standards violate federal law by ignoring both the environment and our country’s growing dependence on foreign oil.
“After years of neglect, it is unconscionable to increase vehicle mileage standards by only one mile per gallon,” Brown said outside the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, where the case was argued Monday. “We are asking the court to reject this dangerously misguided policy that exacerbates global warming and enriches foreign sponsors of terrorism.”
Despite the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, adopted four decades ago in response to the Arab oil crisis, the Bush administration last year ordered a paltry mileage increase, from 22.2 miles per gallon to 23.5 by 2010. The National Environmental Policy Act and other regulations also require the Bush administration, when formulating new mileage standards, to consider the effects of the vehicles’ greenhouse gas emissions on global warming, which the Bush administration failed to do, Brown said.
Instead, the Bush administration adopted a standard oblivious to how manmade pollution is harming the environment and changing the climate. Bush’s policy continues to feed the coffers of foreign oil-producing governments, many of them sponsors of terrorism, while the price of gas is reaching historic highs. Had the administration followed federal environmental and conservation regulations, the government would have demanded greater fuel efficiency, Brown said.
A decision by the three-judge appeals court panel is expected anytime.
Suing along with Brown are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, the District of Columbia, New York City, the Center for Biological Diversity, Natural Resources Defense Council, Environmental Defense and the Sierra Club.
While Bush ignores global warming, the U.S. Supreme Court has not.
On April 2, the Supreme Court demanded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to consider adopting regulations to combat climate change. In that case, the high court wrote “the harms associated with climate change are serious and well recognized.” The Supreme Court noted environmental changes “have already inflicted significant harms” from retreating glaciers, to early spring snow melts to an “accelerated rate of rise of sea levels during the 20th century relative to the past few thousand years.”
Last week, Achim Steiner, executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme, said “Climate change will touch every corner and every community on this planet.” He said “It is now up to governments” to address the issue before it’s too late.
Brown agrees: “Why does President Bush want to keep us addicted to oil, foreign oil?”
The case is California v. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 06-72317.
Court records in the case are attached to this release.

alleviate poverty. So far this is my thesis statement. One of the core ethical principles of social work is that all people have a right to be treated with respect and dignity. We musty ensure that each individuals’ human rights are upheld. Because each person has a right to be treated as a whole person, this requires the professional to not only be concerned with the individual, but also their family, community, and environment. Social workers work towards social justice and fairness for those individuals that are are susceptible to discrimination. inequality, and poor. They help them gain access to resources and support that enhances their well-being and helps them to become self-sufficient. Social workers must come together to change the social conditions that contribute to economic inequalities by challenging unjust policies and practices at every level. This includes making sure that those in need receive resources first, and that resources offered are distributed fairly.
Social workers are concerned with the well-being of individuals who are the most helpless in society. They work with women and children, the elderly and disbabled, individuals who are more likely to live in poverty. Not having access to resources, transportation, education and employment, and child care can contribute to them not being able to fully participate in their lives and communities. Being able to work and provide for our needs and those of our families is essential for our well-being. These individuals should not be deprived of the basic needs that can sustain a persons’ life.
Social work is commonly construed as being similar to charity. This approach is vastly counter-productive to the society as a whole and also to the individuals being helped. Social work needs to evolve into a theme whereby each needy individual is helped on a case-by-case basis to identify the person’s needs, special talents, inclinations – and then to match these with the opportunities. This needs to bring forth whether poverty is for lack of motivation, laziness, passivity – or for lack of opportunities and exposure. Social work should focus on taking care of the latter end. Unfortunately, much too resources are spent on the former – quite in vain. Social workers need to know their abilities and what is truly not in their sphere of influence.

rather than bowing down to fossil fuel interests and fringe conspiracy theorists?
"WASHINGTON – The Environmental Protection Agency took a major step Monday toward regulating greenhouses gases, concluding that climate changing pollution threatens the public health and the environment. "
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34311724/ns/us_news-environment/
The scientific consensus:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
Example position statement from the APS:
"Emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities are changing the atmosphere in ways that affect the Earth’s climate. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide as well as methane, nitrous oxide and other gases. They are emitted from fossil fuel combustion and a range of industrial and agricultural processes.
The evidence is incontrovertible: Global warming is occurring. If no mitigating actions are taken, significant disruptions in the Earth’s physical and ecological systems, social systems, security and human health are likely to occur. We must reduce emissions of greenhouse gases beginning now."[
Andy,
The Wikipedia reference summarizes the statements from dozens of scientific academies and organizations, and links directly to their pages. Then again, you knew that.
Jim z says: "If you think the warming from a century ago proves man made warming, you need a 6th grade Earth Science refresher course as well as a history lesson."
The evidence is there. Please remove your head from the sand.

That’s such an understatement, you have no idea.
During the Bush dark ages when the EPA actually refused to regulate carbon emissions, even after the (conservative) Supreme Court ruled that they had to, it was just embarrassing. This is the Environmental freaking Protection Agency, refusing to regulate the cause of climate change. It was just unbelievable. Meanwhile Europe was enacting a carbon cap and trade system, even Australia finally signed Kyoto, and our government refused to take any action whatsoever.
To be blunt, it was an embarrassing time to be an American. Our country was completely backwards, ruled by the anti-science crowd.
Electing President Obama (who appointed intelligent people to government agencies like the EPA) and a congressional Democratic majority (which seems willing to pass a carbon cap and trade system) was a breath of fresh air. Now our country is actually taking a leadership role again. Not only has the EPA finally agreed to regulate CO2, but the Obama Admin has reached agreements with India and China to curb their CO2 growth, and Obama has said he’ll visit the Copenhagen conference. It’s such a refreshing change from the government that said "if China and India won’t cur their emissions, then we won’t either!". That was such a pathetic cop-out attitude, and to be fair, in the ’90s it was shared by most Democrats as well.
It’s great that the American majority is no longer anti-science.
By the way, I love that jim z puts on this façade that he understands climate science better than any of us when he never presents a shred of scientific evidence to support his claims other than "I know what I’m talking about because I’m a freaking geologist!".

The ISO 14000 family addresses various aspects of environmental management. The very first two standards, ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 14004:2004 deal with environmental management systems (EMS). ISO
14001:2004 provides the requirements for an EMS and ISO 14004:2004 gives general EMS guidelines.
The newly revised ISO 14001:2004 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system (EMS), which provides a framework for an organization to control the environmental impacts of its activities, products
and services, and to continually improve its environmental performance. It applies to those environmental aspects which the organization can control and over which it can be expected to have an influence. It does not itself state
specific environmental performance criteria.
ISO 14001:2004 is applicable to any organization that wishes to:
• implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system
• assure itself of its conformance with its stated environmental policy
• demonstrate such conformance to others
• seek certification/registration of its environmental management system by an external organization
• make a self-determination and self-declaration of conformance with this international standard.
All the requirements in this standard can be incorporated into any environmental management system. Having been revised, the improved ISO 14001 is now expected to bring the benefits of implementing an EMS to more businesses than ever. The standard is now easier to understand and use and has more detailed checklists for inputs and outputs from the management review and has increased compatibility to ISO 9001.
Key Elements Of ISO 14001:2004
• Environmental policy
Develop a statement of your organizations commitment to the environment. Use this policy as a framework for planning and action.
An environmental policy is top managements declaration of its commitment to the environment. This policy should serve as the foundation for your EMS and provide a unifying vision of environmental concern by the entire organization. Given its importance, your policy should be more than just flowery prose.
Since it serves as the framework for setting environmental objectives and targets, the policy should be brought to life in your plans and deeds. Everyone in the organization should understand the policy and what is expected of them in order to achieve the organizations objectives and targets.
Your policy should reflect three key commitments, including a commitment to continual improvement. While this does not mean that you must improve in all areas at once, the policy should drive your organizations efforts to continually improve environmental management (and the improved performance that results from these efforts).
