what effects did Mount Bulusan in the Philippines have on people and the natural environment?

Bulusan is clasified as a composite volcano and is made up of lava flows and domes. It is flanked by several cones namely: Mt. Homahan, Mt. Binactan, Mt. Batuan, Mt. Juban, Mt. Calaunan, Mt. Tabon-Tabon, Mt. Calungalan and Mt. Jormajan. Beside the active volcano is an old ridge called Sharp Peak which is 1215 m. high and 1.8 km. to the northeast. Between Bulusan and Jormajan is theNatakop lava dome.

Bulusan’s series of 17 eruptions during May 1919 to May 1922 were of short duration ranging from 15 to 30 minutes each. Other eruptions were recorded in June 1928 and Dec. 25, 1933 and then the volcano rested for 45 years. On June 28, 1978, it suddenly ejected ashladen steam clouds which formed in a dark column of smoke 1500 m. high. Andesitic baalt ash was ejected and blown by winds to as far as Barcelona in the northeast about 15 km. from the volcano.

The eruptions which followed in 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1983 were all pheatric and as mild as the previous ones. Its most recent eruption was in 1988.

A total of 60 barangays within the territorial jurisdiction of six municipalities (Barcelona, Bulusan, Casiguran, Gubat, Irosin and Juban) are covered by the Bulusan Volcano hazard zones established by PHIVOLCS. These barangays lie within 4-10 km. from the summit of Bulusan Volcano.

The Eagles of Homer-A Story inspired by Jean Keene-

Posted by admin on July 8th, 2010 and filed under natural environment | 16 Comments »

Educational and Meaningful Entertainment for all ages about Eagles. Children and Adults alike can connect with their natural surroundings and enjoy the simplicity of nature with inspiring photography and video of eagles in their natural envirionment. Comments that inspire children to learn about animals and the natural environment will be approved. Jean Keene is a contraversial subject, and certainly there are two sides to every story. This video was created for children to enjoy-those that don’t have the opportunity to see Eagles, and that’s why it’s here on youtube. Enjoy it, be inspired, and give something back to the land to honor family, self, and friends so that there will always be wildlife and habitat.

How did chemistry helped the natural environment.?

Posted by admin on July 7th, 2010 and filed under natural environment | 1 Comment »

What are the ways in which the study of chemistry has benefited or harmed the natural environment?

Type in "Agent Orange" in google. This is a classic example for how chemistry has harmed nature. Fertilizer is also bad for our rivers, lakes etc.

Benefits? Herbicides and Pesticides for the growth of plants and foods.

What is the science behind the claim that children can have a net positive impact on the natural environment?

Posted by admin on July 4th, 2010 and filed under natural environment | 2 Comments »

People opposed to population control claim that extra kids don’t negatively effect the environment, but it seems like either they or I are misunderstanding something.

Let’s imagine that you raise your child to be the most environmentally responsible person on the planet. That child consumes A LOT over the course of his or her lifetime but does his/her best to minimize his/her ecological footprint. (And let’s acknowledge that exceedingly few American kids grow up like this, but anyway…)

Everything that child consumes is ultimately made from natural resources, some of which can be replenished (e.g., corn) and some of which can’t (e.g., coal). But it is impossible to harvest natural resources without at least a little bit of damage to nature (e.g., trucks, combine harvesters, tools made from mined metal, etc.).

So each additional child can only have a net negative impact on nature (although it can be small if he or she is careful), right?

Am I missing something?

Does natural environment have power to choose whether you should be an apple or a human being?

Posted by admin on July 1st, 2010 and filed under natural environment | 2 Comments »

The theory of Evolution is based on fallacious reasonings. Natural selection is pathetic fallacy, giving human traits to inanimate objects. Why homogeneous environment of ocean has so much variety of living forms, as small as bacterias and as large as whales?

Of course natural environment can control what you should be. Well, scientifically, they will tell you that you will become an apple if you were a seed from an apple and similarly you became a human being from the egg of a human being! The theory of evolution are all guesswork., because until now scientists are still studying why and how the universe and all the living beings were first being created or formed.
Having said that about nature….dont you ever wonder theres surely some great being behind which is responsible for all this wonder??? The answer is none other than GOD THE ALMIGHTY!
