CARPOOL TO SCHOOL
The City of Portland is proud to announce that Portland Public School District has endorsed a new carpooling program as part of Portland’s Safe Routes to School effort. Recognizing that not everyone can walk and bike to school, ride a school bus, or take transit, our goal is to get as many families as possible to carpool to school. Sunnyside Environmental School is fortunate to be one of three pilot schools receiving this service this school year.
Carpool to School is easy to use. Just click on the link and register. You are matched instantly to other parents looking to carpool on the same days and at the same times as you.
Just think of the benefits to you, your children and your school!
- Improving traffic safety around your school
- Reducing traffic congestion and pollution
- Saving money by reducing the number of miles driven on your car
- Saving you time by only driving a few times a week instead of every day
- Building community by meeting neighbors who attend your school
If you have any questions please contact Transportation Options, Janis McDonald at janis.mcdonald@pdxtrans.org or 503-823-5358.
